I'm in love with northern Idaho, but all the rocks for miles were black or gray depending on how wet they were on the road from Orofino along the Lewis and Clark trail.

Carlin Bay marina, from the deck of the little smokey tavern on the edge of the lake 13 miles north of Harrison. There was no other restaurant open for forty or fifty miles in either direction.
